Today felt different in a good way. In our WordPress Credit Course session, we learned something that was not only technical but also meaningful on a personal level.
Our mentor showed us how to contribute to WordPress. Before this, I used to think contributing meant writing complex code or building big features. But today I understood that it is much more than that.
He explained that contributing to WordPress is not just about helping others. It is also about helping yourself grow. WordPress is an open platform that gives us the chance to learn step by step. We can start with small things like fixing documentation, doing translations, answering questions in forums, or reporting small issues. These may look small, but they help us gain real experience.
One thing that stayed in my mind was when he said, “WordPress has created the opportunity for you to learn. The question is, are you taking it?” That line really made me think.
We also learned how to log in to WordPress.org, set up our profiles, and track our contributions. It was interesting to see how small efforts can slowly build a meaningful profile. No contribution is too small. Everyone can start from where they are.
By the end of the session, I realized that contributing is a way to make your learning journey visible. What I learn today in a small task can become the foundation for something bigger tomorrow.
This course is not just teaching skills. It is shaping a mindset. If I keep taking small, consistent steps, I know I can grow into something much bigger in the future.
